Transparent's largest gauge interconnect, MAGNUM OPUS cable consists of heavy stranded OFHC conductors that are individually insulated, damped and cabled with a very tight and uniform twist rate. The subassemblies lock together in a tight lay so that the cable's electrical characteristics do not change when the cable bends or flexes.
The combination of the network, its layout, the electrical values of the cable itself, and the way the network attaches to the cable all work together to determine the overall electrical characteristics of MAGNUM OPUS single-ended interconnects. For MAGNUM OPUS to perform as intended for a specific system and components – these overall electrical characteristics must match the design model to the nearest thousandth of a microhenry, 25 thousandths of an ohm, and a trillionth of a farad – measurements that are at the edge of what technicians can control in production.
The new MAGNUM OPUS Single-Ended interconnect is capable of transferring large amounts of current with an astonishingly low noise floor. These capabilities require special attention to reducing interference from external and internal electro- mechanical resonances.
A custom designed nonyl-phenol 2-part epoxy resin surrounds the network. The resin cures into a solid electrically neutral mass and bonds with the stiff outer carbon fiber shell to eliminate electro-mechanical resonances.
New carbon fiber reinforced RCA connectors significantly reduce vibrations within the connector and maintain an optimum contact with components.
