A CLEAN SLATE
OPUS MM is an entirely new product for Transparent. After several years of intensive research in our lab and countless hours of listening in our music and film studio, we have developed completely new approaches to cable technology, network components, and damping and suspension technology. Transparent's OPUS MM family is intended for use with the finest professional and home music and film installations. OPUS MM interconnects and speaker cables are available in tube and solid-state versions. Transparent further optimizes each OPUS MM cable to suit the specific requirements of the customer's system. This new level of cable customization brings you the full realization of the performance we intended with the OPUS MM designs.

CABLES AND CONNECTORS
OPUS MM cable consists of many heavy strands of individually damped, oxygen-free copper. Complex cable geometry and the hefty stranding employed in OPUS MM designs add significantly to the manufacturing and assembly costs. We specifically chose the OPUS MM strand size for its low noise and low resonance properties in audio signal applications. The cable itself therefore provides a powerful and quiet foundation on which to build Transparent's ground breaking OPUS MM network technology.

OPUS MM's custom-designed, gold-plated tellurium copper connectors have superior signal transfer qualities and fit their respective cables precisely. The precise fit of the connectors and exacting termination techniques result in highly reliable terminations that deliver every nuance of the music to your components.

DAMPING
Effective damping and suspension technologies prevent mechanical resonance from obscuring the nuances of the music in any well-designed audio component. Cabling is not an exception to this rule. In OPUS MM, Transparent spares no expense in achieving the most complete damping and suspension systems possible. A large mass of electrically neutral epoxy damping material encapsulates OPUS MM networks to reduce resonance in the audible range. Although the network modules on OPUS MM speaker cables and interconnects are quite large and heavy, it would take considerably more damping material to totally eliminate mechanical resonance. We have, therefore, chosen to encase OPUS MM damping material with carbon fiber. This extremely stiff, light skin deadens any residual resonance without adding significant additional mass to the network pods on OPUS MM speaker cables and interconnects.

NETWORK
OPUS MM network technology is a refinement of Transparent's proprietary computer model for network design. OPUS MM requires considerably more precision and measurement in the assembly process than Transparent's award-winning Reference XL series. OPUS MM's performance is so quiet and resolving that final adjustments to the network require tolerances to .025 ohms and 1 picofarad.

The extremely quiet and neutral listening environment provided by Transparent's music and film studio was instrumental to the development of OPUS MM. To appreciate the full refinement of OPUS MM performance, we recommend that you have a listening environment that is as quiet and neutral as possible. Please consult with your Transparent dealer about ways to improve your listening environment.

COMPONENTS
Speakers and amplifiers require circuits that contain components to help them accurately transfer audio signals. Similarly, the components within the OPUS MM networks allow the cable to achieve ideal audio signal transfer characteristics. The OPUS MM components have been designed by Transparent to work ideally with the specific stranding and geometry of OPUS MM speaker cables and interconnects. Each length of OPUS MM speaker cable or interconnect requires its own component values to achieve the level of precision required for OPUS MM performance. The large, precision, hand-made components in the OPUS net-works represent ground breaking technology for Transparent. This totally new approach to network components helps unlock the true performance potential of each OPUS MM cable we manufacture by allowing a previously unheard of level of precision and customization.

SUSPENSION
The OPUS MM speaker cable network pod sits upon a thick plinth machined of solid acrylic and is supported by four heavy, adjustable, cone-shaped feet. The massive OPUS MM speaker cable damping and suspension system is an absolute requirement to transfer the fullest possible range of high-level signals from the most powerful amplifiers. We discovered just how key these technologies are to OPUS MM when we compared an early OPUS MM prototype (which was encapsulated like Reference XL) with the first production model of the large, carbon fiber OPUS MM network pod. The differences in low-level information retrieval and dynamics were so astonishing that any thoughts of dressing OPUS networks in a more cost effective package were soundly laid to rest. The damping and suspension technologies in OPUS MM interconnects and speaker cables represent a substantial portion of the cost of these ultimate components.
